Obituary for Tammy Sims Hinson
A funeral service for Tammy Dawn Sims Hinson, 46, of Kershaw, will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Kershaw. The Revs. Bryant D. Fersner and Ronnie Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Tammy died Friday, June 2, 2017. Born in Greenville, SC, she was the only child of Brenda Gay Sims and the late Bobby Sims. She was a Home Health Care nurse and a member of First Baptist Church. Tammy also was an avid UNC Tar Heel fan and NASCAR fan.
Surviving in addition to her mother of Kershaw are her husband, Shane Hinson of Kershaw, her uncle, Wayne Gay of Kershaw; paternal uncles and aunts, Jasper (Christine) Sims of Goose Creek, Charles E. (Lila) Sims of Rock Hill, Sandra Sims of Lancaster, Janet Sims of Kershaw, maternal great aunt, Ruby G. Williams of Kershaw, her father and mother-in-law, Mike and Ann V. Hinson of Kershaw; her brother-in-law, Jamie Hinson; her sister-in-law, Megan Hinson; numerous “favorite” cousins and special family friend, Paul Connell of Kershaw. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Hunter and Bessie Sims; her maternal grandparents, Curtis and Grace Gay and paternal uncles and aunts, John Sims, Murriel Sims, William G. “Bill” Sims, Lucille Catoe and Christine Catoe.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of her mother.
