Obituary for Ruth Hilton Watts
Ruth Hilton Watts, 85, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Sunday, January 24, 2021. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Annie Catoe Hilton and Norman Hilton, Sr. Mrs. Watts enjoyed word puzzles, watching birds, and sunsets. She also loved spending time with her church family from Center Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member. For many years she was employed as the Fire Tower Operator.
She is survived by her three daughters; Terri Hollingsworth (Chuck), Tammy Harrison (Tommy), and Staci Bowers (Dennis); four grandchildren, April Spear (Chris), T.J. Harrison, Heather Kelly, and Kristi Nickerson (Zach). Mrs. Watts is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Howard Watts; a grandson; Tracey Holley; two brothers, Norman Hilton Jr. and Wylie G. Hilton and a sister, Shirley Rinehart. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Watts may be directed to Center Grove Baptist Church, 6028 Center Grove Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday morning, January 28, 2021, in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery formerly known as Laurel Hill Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Steve Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
The family will greet friends following the graveside service in the cemetery.
