Obituary for Ruth Blackmon Shehane
A graveside service for Ruth Ester Blackmon Shehane, 96 of Heath Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Buddy Thomas will officiate.

Mrs. Shehane, widow of Woodrow Wilson Shehane, died Tuesday, July 26, at White Oak Manor, Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Hunter and Bertha Couch Blackmon and a homemaker. She also attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and gardening.

Surviving are her son, Jerry Shehane and his wife Tammy of Concord, N.C.; 10 grandchildren;19 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Alva Blackmon and 2 sisters; Julia Gainey and Elvis Ray all of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Shehane ; 2 daughters, Carolyn Williams and Margie Napper; a grandson and 8 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends, Friday, July 29, prior to the service beginning at 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, SC Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, S.C. 29621.
