Robert Lucas Brown of Bethune passed from this life on September 9th at Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia, SC of Covid-19 complications. A life-long resident of South Carolina, he was 83 years old. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Robert worked at Kendall and retired from Dupont as a Power Operator.

He was a lifelong member and a deacon at Shamrock Baptist Church. He lived his life by the bible and his faith. He was a devoted father and grandfather who lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his family and his church. Our beloved Father and Husband, whether you called him Sister, Dad, Pops, Daddy, Unc, Daddy Rob or Uncle Rob, could light up any room with a smile, joke or little boogie woogie. Rob knew how to have fun!

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Lannie Poston Brown; sisters, Nellie (Floyd Lee) Hurst, Carrie (James) Horton, Rose (Jack) Griffin, and Neta (Harley )Hayden; brothers Mack Brown Jr., Charlie (Mazel) Brown, Broadus Brown, Howard Brown and Hugh Brown. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann and his children, Robbie (Liz) Brown, Tracy (Rachel) Brown, Nan (Rhett) Jones; grandchildren Deuce Brown, Ray Brown, Karleigh Jones, Walker Brown, Jackson Brown, Gracie Jones, Cassidy Brown, Sammie Jones, Caden Brown and Noah Brown; beloved sisters- in-laws, Ellen Brown and Marsha Brown; his wife’s children, Kenny (Wendy) McCaskill, Melissa (Kent) Cassidy and Wesley (Kim) McCaskill; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Henry and Bobbi Hinson and Blake Huckabee (last original member of Shamrock Sunday Dinner Club), from Bethune, SC.

He was Rob Brown, great father, grandfather, husband and friend. His love for children was evident everywhere he went. He was one of a kind. He will be missed dearly!
