Obituary for Richard Thomas Hilton
A funeral service for Richard Thomas “Tommy” Hilton, 73 of Kershaw will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, at Center Grove Baptist Church. The Revs. Jackie Jenkins and Tracy Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Center Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Hilton died Friday, June 24, at CMC-Main, Charlotte, NC. Born in Camden, he was a son of John Thomas and Tressie Mae Catoe Hilton. He retired from Springs Industries and was a active member of Center Grove Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher and deacon. He also enjoyed wildlife, photography and computers. Mr. Hilton was married to the late Kathryn Little Hilton.
Surviving are his son, Jonathan D. Hilton of Columbia; 4 grandchildren; 3 brothers, John Franklin “Frankie” Hilton and his wife Ann of Ocala, FL, Robert Hilton of Belmont, NC, James B. “Jimmy” Hilton of Kershaw and 2 sisters, Rebecca Jane Hilton and Kathy H. Faile and her husband Foster all of Swansea. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Hilton and a son, William Thomas Hilton.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, June 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
