If he wasn’t volunteering or shopping, you could find him chatting with his favorite people in and around Kershaw. Rick loved traveling and spent much of the past three years between Virginia and South Carolina, to visit his children and grandchildren.

Rick is survived by his partner R. Aaron Dunn of Kershaw; daughter, Jessica E. McCarty, and her husband, Duane McCarty, of Suffolk, Virginia; daughter, Mary D. Rick was “Papa” to five grandchildren, Tristan McCarty, Richard McCarty, Joshua McCarty, Ethan Antley, and Emily Antley. Rick’s sixth grandchild Margaret Herpolsheimer is due to arrive in May.

The family invites all who knew and loved Rick to a memorial service celebrating his life on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Baker Funeral Home, 210 East Hilton Street, Kershaw, South Carolina, 29067. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
