Obituary for Rev. Jack Hudson
A funeral service for Rev. Jack Hudson, 79 of Lancaster will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. Rev. Stephen Owens will officiate. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Camden. Rev. Hudson, died Monday, August 26. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William Everett and Suelee Carnes Hudson. Rev. Hudson was a retired Baptist minister. He pastored churches in Mississippi , North Carolina and South Carolina. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his daughter, Becky Padgett (Marvin) of Camden; his son, Jackie Hudson (Darlene) of Lugoff; two grandchildren, Stephanie Watts (Daryl) of Elgin, Alisha Avant (Shannon) of Lugoff; two great grandchildren, Carrie Watts and Brayden Avant; his brother-in-law, Durwood Rainey of Lancaster and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death this past June 1, 2013, by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Taylor Hudson; two brothers, Clyde and Ralph Hudson; two sisters, Margaret Hudson and Yvonne Rainey . The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 28, one hour prior to the service from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to White Springs Baptist Church, 1249 Grace Avenue, Lancaster, SC 29720. The family wishes to thank the church family of White Springs Baptist Church and Mr. Ben Moorefield for the love, care and concern shown to them throughout these past years. They also wish to thank Agape Hospice of Camden for their care these past months .
