Randolph Heath Carnes, Sr., 81, of Heath Springs, passed away, Thursday, March 5, at MUSC Health - Lancaster Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Rev. Aboth Heath Carnes and Cleo Helms Carnes. Mr. Carnes retired from the engineering department of Springs Industries after 42 years of service. He was a member of Springdell Baptist Church. Mr. Carnes enjoyed working in his shop and garden.
Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Lenora E. Blackmon Carnes; 3 children, Sam (Marlene) Pardue, Roger (Priscilla) Pardue and Candice (Dan) Maness all of Heath Springs; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a sister, Freida (Bryce) Whitley of Lancaster.
Funeral services will be conducted, Sunday, March 8, at 3:00 p.m. from the sanctuary of Springdell Baptist Church, Lancaster. The Revs. Donald Tillman and Robert Boyd will officiate. Mr. Carnes will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Heath Springs.
The family will receive friends, following the service on Sunday in the church sanctuary and other times at the home.
