Mrs. Hilton, 94, widow of the late David Eric Hilton, went to be with our heavenly father Thursday morning, October 27, 2022. She retired from Springs Industries to help raise children and help her mother take care of her father.
She was a lifelong resident of Kershaw County and member of Providence Baptist Church. She served Providence Baptist Church faithfully in various capacities. She also served on the church cemetery committee for many years. Mrs. Hilton cared for the Gates Ford Community Center until recently and was a was a former member of the Home Demonstration Club.
Born in Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Alexander West and Leola Minerva Horton West.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Hilton Perry (Dwight) of Kissimmee, FL; 2 sons, David Hilton, II of Ridgeway, SC, and Son Steve L. Hilton (Patti B.) of Camden, SC. She is also survived by her two granddaughters & grandson-in-law; Heather L. Perry Doherty (Phillip) of Tavares, FL and Sarah E. Hilton of Camden, SC; 3 sisters-in-law, Doris West, Myra West and Linda West all of Kershaw, SC; 1 brother-in-law, Harry Hilton (Nancy) of Kershaw, SC and many nieces, nephews, and cousins from SC and Florida.
She was preceded in death by 4 sisters; Mabel West, Kate West Reeves, Sarah West Evans, and Margie West Watson and 3 brothers; Walter J. West, Sr., Thomas West and Johnny A. West.
A Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct 30, 2022, in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate.
The family will receive family and friends following the graveside service at the Church Fellowship Hall.
Our hearts are very heavy. Please keep our family in your prayers as we go through the next few difficult days.
Our Family would like to Thank all the wonderful nurses, nurses’ aides, and support staff of MUSC Hospice of Kershaw County for their wonderful care of our precious Mother. Thank You from the bottom of our Heart!
