Obituary for Nancy Sandifer Hurst
Memorial services for Nancy Sandifer Hurst, 85, of Monroe, NC and formerly of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, SC.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 o’clock p.m.
Ms. Hurst passed away, Thursday, November 8, 2018, at CMC Main, Charlotte, NC. Born in Bamberg, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Lee Sandifer and Bertie Young Sandifer. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at A. Sam Karesh Longterm Care, Camden, SC and was a member of Refuge Baptist Church, Kershaw, SC. Ms. Hurst was a former Girl Scout Leader and an avid reader. She loved nature, especially birds and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains. Ms. Hurst loved caring for her family and others.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Beth Bales and her husband Richard of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Ruth Deason and her husband Danny of Monroe, NC and Maria Fink and her husband Mick of Rock Hill, SC; 3 grandchildren, Kristi, Ashley and Aly; 6 great grandchildren and a brother, Robert Sandifer of Granite Bay, California.
Memorial contributions in memory of Ms. Hurst may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 140 Stoneridge Drive, # 210, Columbia, SC 29210.
