Obituary for Mitchell Davis Hightower, Sr.
Mitchell Davis Hightower, Sr., age 80, died Thursday, September 26, 2019, at his home. Born in Oconee County, S.C., he was the son of the late Rev. Claude Hightower and Sallie Broome Hightower. Mr. Hightower retired from Archer Daniels Midland, Co. He was a graduate of Baron DeKalb High School and a member of Pineview Baptist Church. Mr. Hightower loved fishing, watching the Yankees and Tigers play, singing and playing the guitar.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Deborah Hightower and Donna Freeman; a son, Davis Hightower (Marie); 4 grandchildren, Asheland Price (Dylan), Paige Haithcock (Zachary), Austin Hightower (Jenna), and Stephanie Stone (Logan); 3 great grandchildren, Chloe Price, Canton Price, and Langley Stone; 4 sisters, Elizabeth Wooten (Leo), Lois Jacobs (Donnie), Linda Hill (Danny), and Montez Burton (James); 2 brothers, Haskell Hightower (Jean) and Veldee Hightower (Sharon). Mr. Hightower was predeceased by his wife, Vivian Robinson Hightower; 4 sisters, Louise Hightower, Joyce Cox, Patsy Tarrant, and Claudia Price and a brother, Elmo Hightower. The family would also like to thank Jodi Bowker for the love and care shown to Mr. Hightower as his cargiver.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, at 2:00 p.m. in Pineview Baptist Church Family Life Center with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Hank Fanning will officiate.

The family will receive friends in the church Family Life Center following the burial.
