Obituary for Miriam W. Powers
A service to celebrate the life of Miriam Annie Williams Powers, 80, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 4:00 o’clock p.m., Monday, June 12, 2017, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. The Rev. Joe Stines and Ronnie Hinson will officiate. Burial will be private in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

Mrs. Powers, died Saturday, June 10, 2017, at KershawHealth, Camden, SC. Born in Camden, SC, she was a daughter of the late Royce and Ella Louise Hunter Williams. She retired from Springs Industries as the dietician of the Kershaw Plant cafeteria. She was a faithful member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Powers enjoyed walking, listening to music, reading and fishing. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, Quay Powers of the home; 2 daughters, Sharon W. Summerall and her husband John of Beaufort, SC, Lisa Howard Dodd and her husband Thomas of Clearwater, FL; 3 step-children, Debbie Craig of Lancaster, SC, Karen McKinney and her husband Danny of Columbia, SC and Gregg Powers and his wife Liz of Greenville, SC; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea Moore, Chloe Moore Sinnard and her husband Taylor, Will Summerall, Wesley Summerall, Shiloh Moore and Acacia Anderson; 1 great granddaughter, Reeve Colette Sinnard; 6 step-grandchildren, Michelle Craig, Westley McKinney and his wife Caroline, Andrew McKinney, Robert Q. Powers, Lane Powers and Jake Powers. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard A. Williams and her brother, Elliott Williams.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 12, 2017, one hour prior to the service beginning at 3:00 o’clock p.m., in the church Family Life Center and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Power’s memory may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw-Camden Highway, Kershaw, SC 29067.
