Obituary for Mildred L. Miles Pigg
Funeral services for Mildred Louise Miles, Pigg, 77 of Kershaw will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013, from the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home. The Rev. Ken Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Mrs. Pigg, widow of Lee Roy Pigg died Saturday, August 17, 2013, in Providence Hospital, Columbia. Born in Jefferson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Maggie Taylor Miles. She retired from Springs Industries Spinning Department and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church, Elgin, SC. Mrs. Pigg also enjoyed traveling. Surviving are her son, Howard L. (Pigg) Pharis and his wife Sharon of Elgin, SC; two grandchildren, SFC Troy Pharis (US Army) and his wife Kristy and TSgt. Carrie Pharis (US Air Force); five great grandchildren, Savannah, Theodore, Brandon, Eric and Alex; her sister-in-law, Diane Miles and a niece, Karen Kolb both of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Loyd Miles, Charles Miles and Harold Miles. The family will receive friends, Monday evening, August 19, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. Memorials contributions may be made in Mrs. Pigg’s memory to Hillcrest Baptist Church Romania or Bus Fund, 2666 Highway US 1 South, Elgin, SC 29045.
