Obituary for Michael L. Burris
A service to celebrate the life of Michael Lynn Burris, age 76, of Kershaw, SC, and formerly of Concord, NC, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in the sanctuary of Flint Ridge Baptist Church, Heath Springs, SC. Rev. Kelvin Hinson will officiate.
Mr. Burris passed away peacefully at his home, Friday, June 2, 2017, with his family by his side. Born in Concord, NC, he was a son of the late Henry Eugene and Johnnie Crouch Burris. Mr. Burris retired from Amour Meat Packing Co. and was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church. He also loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Mr. Burris served in the US Marine Corps Reserves during the Cuban Missile Crises.
Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Julia Ritchie Burris; his daughter, Kathryn B. (Tim) Jolly of Gaffney, SC; his son, David M. (Sarah) Burris of Statesville, NC; 2 grandsons, Andrew Burris and Jake Jolly and his twin sister, Mary Ann B. Sedberry.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 2:00 to 4:00 o’clock p.m. at the home and also following the Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, in the Church Family Life Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Flint Ridge Baptist Church Family Life Center, 1850 Flint Ridge Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058.
