Obituary for Michael Glenn Bowers
Michael Glenn Bowers, 65, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Sunday, June 20, 2021, at MUSC Medical Center Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son of the late Melvin Alton Bowers and Annie Lou Hudson Bowers. He was a truck driver. Mr. Bowers loved to fish, listen to 70’s and 80’s music and cut grass. He also enjoyed eating chocolate ice cream, traveling, being a jokester and spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 12 years, Windy Carol Williams Bowers; 3 daughters, Angel (David) Mackey, Crystal (Billy) Gilmore and Michael (Walter) Hendershot; 2 stepsons, Eugene (Ashley) Plyler and Joey Plyler; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Judy Hartley and Rebecca Bowers and a brother, Tracy Bowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Amanda Plyler.
The family will greet friends, Saturday morning, June 26, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C. prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Sam Kennington will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C.
Memorial donations in memory of Mr. Bowers may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
