Obituary for Mattie Sue Allen
Funeral services for Mattie Sue Allen 75, of Kershaw, will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Sunday, February 10, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. The Revs. Ray “Randy” Deese and Ronnie Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Miss Allen passed away, Friday, February 8, in White Oak Manor, Lancaster. Born in Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Worth Morgan Allen and Ethel Deese Allen. Sue had worked for Kanawha Insurance Company, Wingate College and Carson Newman College. She was a faithful member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Sue was a humble person with an infectious smile. She always put others before herself. Sue could often be seen around town helping someone or riding her bicycle. She leaves behind many friends to cherish her memory.
Surviving are 2 sisters; Ann Catoe and Dot Sims; numerous nieces and nephews, Calvin (Dawanna) Catoe, Bryan (Lynn) Catoe, Lori Catoe and special friend, Joni Phillips, Louvetta (Jerry) Phillips, Bonnie (John) Eubanks, Marie (Jeff) Johnson, Steve Sims, Janice Cole, Tim Sims, Ronnie (Sherry) Morgan, Kay (Phil) Douglas, June (Wayne) Morgan, Don (Kim) Sullivan, Janey (Tom) Broncaleone, Gloria Manhers and Denise Pata and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by 3 sisters, Helen Faulkenberry, Mary Morgan and Dora Allen.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, February 10, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Kershaw Second Baptist Church gymnasium and other times at 125 Blackmon Circle, Kershaw.
