Obituary for Marion A. Sims
A funeral service for Marion A. “Sheriff” Sims, 63, of Lancaster, S.C., will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2017, in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson, S.C. Rev. Larry Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Sims died Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C. he was a son of the late Marion R. “Buck” Sims and Mary Francis Stevens Sims. He was a painter. Mr. Sims loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife Grace A. Goodier Sims of 29 years of the home; 2 daughters, Mary Demby and her husband Greg of Kershaw, S.C., Crystal Teal and her husband Phillip of Spartanburg, S.C. and 4 grandchildren, Brooke, Katelyn, MacKenzie and Matthew . He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julia and a sister, Cynthia “Susie” Hudson.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Landmark Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1134 White Buffalo Drive, Lancaster, S.C. 29720.
