Loretta C. Rodgers

Loretta Catoe Rodgers, 82, of Bethune, S.C., passed away, Friday, October 28, 2022, at her home. Born in Bethune, S.C., she was a daughter of the late William Clyde Catoe and Frances Inez Mangum Catoe. She was a graduate of Mt. Pisgah High School and retired from International Paper. She was of Baptist faith.


She is survived by 4 children, Billy B. (Chrystal) Rodgers, Lee R. (Robbie) Hunter, Susan L. (Kim) Rodgers, Paula R. (Chris) Steele; 6 grandchildren, Michael B. (Megan) Rodgers, Kristin N. Rodgers, Emilee R. Hunter, Cameron C. Steele, Ryan Hunter and Lyna Bowden; 5 great grandchildren, Tucker Rodgers, Alyssa Sowell, Carson Sowell, Trotter Rodgers and Ellie Rodgers and her cat, Peggy. She is also survived by a sister, Frances Boone and 4 brothers, Harold Catoe, Wayne Catoe, Donnie Catoe, Glenn Earl Catoe and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Raymond Catoe and Kenneth Catoe.


The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers, Tonya Laney, Margie Eason, Candace Clark, Patricia Maslin, Kathy Payne, Phoebe Coates and Rochelle Anderson. The family would also like to thank Dr. Jack Scheur and the staff from MUSC Health Hospice for the love and care shown to Ms. Rodgers.


The family will receive friends, Friday, November 4, 2022, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Fellowship Hall prior to the service.


A service to remember and celebrate her life will be held in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Friday, November 4, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Todd Montgomery will officiate.


A private burial will follow the service with only children, grandchildren and great grandchildren attending.


Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 2140 McBee Highway, Jefferson, S.C. 29718 or the charity of one’s choice.
