Obituary for Lonzo Wesley Rollings, Sr.
Mr. Lonzo “Wesley” Rollings, Sr., 84, of Heath Springs, passed away on October 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Rollings was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a one of a kind mechanic. He enjoyed making someone’s trash into someone else’s treasure. He could fix most anything and enjoyed spending his time in his shop working on most anything. If he could not fix it, he would say he was going to sleep on it and then the next morning it would be fixed. He loved camping, being outdoors, cutting grass and riding his golf cart around his neighborhood. No matter what you needed him to help you with, he was always eager to assist. He shared many good times and fond memories with his family. He enjoyed life but most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family.

Mr. Rollings retired from DuPont in 1996, where he was employed for 29 years. He also served 6 months in the Army Reserves.

Mr. Rollings is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Sarah F. Rollings. They were married for 56 years. He is also survived by two sons, Todd (Marlene) Catoe of Heath Springs and Lonzo “Squeaky” Wesley (Sissy) Rollings, Jr. of Rock Hill. Mr. Rollings is also survived by his grandchildren, Miranda (Samuel) Edwards, Marlee Williams, Catlin (Stephanie) Rollings,
Benjamin (Karley) Catoe and Michelle Hinton. His great-grandchildren, Chandler Edwards, Kennedy Catoe, Sarah Jane Rollings, Chloe Edwards, Easton Catoe, Sadie Rollings, Ellison Catoe, Makya Hayes and Paige Hayes. He also had one great great grandchild, Aiden Edwards. Mr. Rollings is also survived by a sister, Irene (Charles) Arant and a brother, Floyd (Ronnie) Rollings. Mr. Rollings is also survived by his faithful fur baby, Bailey.

Mr. Rollings was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Heath Springs.

The family of Mr. Rollings will lay him to rest on October 15, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery located at the end of Minor Street in Heath Springs. His graveside service will be conducted by his grandson, Rev. Catlin Rollings and Rev. Buddy Thomas.

Mr. Rollings was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Dora Rollings; a sister, Idell Hunter and two brothers, Charles Rollings and James Rollins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 4357 Kershaw Camden Highway, Heath Springs, South Carolina.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers, especially Kay Jenkins, that have
assisted in his illness over the years.

The family will receive visitors at his home. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the family has requested that visits be limited to only 30 minutes and for everyone to please sanitize their hands before entering the home.

Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C. is serving the Rollings family.
