Lawrence “Cody” Taylor, age 28, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away peacefully at his home on Friday evening, January 13, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Columbia, S.C. he was a son of Larry Dewayne Taylor and the late Bonnie Sue Roberts Taylor. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Cody loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed cooking and paddle boarding. Cody served in the United States Marine Corps before being honorably discharged.
He is survived by his father; his 3 siblings, Tanya (Cory Blackmon) Broughton, Stephen (Courtney) Taylor and Shannon Taylor, his nieces and nephews, Chase Broughton, Aubrey Taylor, Zander Curtis, Colt Broughton, Bailey Blackmon, Braelyn Taylor and Corrie Taylor and many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. He is also survived by his canine partner and fetch buddy, Spencer.
The family will hold a service to celebrate his life, Saturday, January 21, 2023, from the sanctuary of Providence Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate.
The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home.
Memorial remembrances in memory of Cody may be made to the American Cancer Society- (SC) Chapter, Post Office Box 11796, Charlotte, N.C. 28220.
