Obituary for Laura Ann Tarlton
Funeral services for Laura Ann “Laurie” Tarlton, 44, of Westville, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in Refuge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Laurie died Sunday, May 20, in Greenville, S.C. after an extended illness. Born in Newberry, S.C., she was the daughter of Elizabeth Bradley Tarlton and the late Silvester “Bo” Tarlton. Ms. Tarlton was a former technician with South Carolina Heart Center and a former employee of KershawHealth, Camden. Surviving are two daughters, Marlee E. Byrd (Damien) of Kershaw; Rebekah A. Byrd of Camden; grandson, Cohan Napier of Kershaw; brother, Alton Lee Tarlton of Lugoff; two sisters; Kathy T. Maness (Alan) of Lugoff, Debra T. Hayes (Kenny) of Camden and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, sisters; Sara Ann Tarlton, Jennie T. Young and her beloved companion, Ted Bowers and his mother, Sylvia Bowers. A special thank you to her niece, Angela Tarlton for the many selfless days and nights spent caring for Laurie. Also to Grady Bowers for the many years of unconditional love and kindness that you showed to Laurie and her family. The family would also like to thank Capital City Ambulance, Camden Dialysis Center, Dr. Paul Christenberry, the Doctors and Staff of Greenville Memorial Hospital and Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Center. Active pallbearers will be Ron Sowell, Brad Sowell, Trad Hunter, Cliff Lee, Davey Roberts and Scott Bowers Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, May 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw.
