Obituary for Kelly Michelle Barton
Kelly Michelle Barton, 59, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of James E. Barton, Sr. and the late Gertrude Howard Malone. Kelly graduated from Lancaster High School and was a Golden Girl with the high school band. While in high school she taught dancing with Susan’s School of Dance. She also attended Winthrop University and USC-Lancaster. She was an active former member of First United Methodist Church, Lancaster, where she served on various committees and helped with the children’s ministries. Kelly was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her daughters brought much joy to her life. She especially loved taking care of her two grandsons who called her “KK". She was a paralegal. Kelly enjoyed tending to her plants, coloring and painting. She enjoyed watching Soap Operas and taking care of animals.
In addition to her father, she is survived by 2 daughters, Morgan Malone (Richard) Faulkenberry and Madison Jans (Corey) Edwards; 2 grandson, Jaxon Keith Faulkenberry and Jasen Lee Faulkenberry; her brother, James E. “Jimbo” Barton, Jr. and his wife, Jeanne and her niece, Anne Marie Barton.
A service to remember and celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 o’clock p.m., Monday, June 28, 2021, in Freedom Freewill Baptist Church, Lancaster. Mr. Scott Case will officiate.
Memorial donations in memory of Kelly may be made to the Humane Society of Lancaster SC, P.O. Box 1825, Lancaster, S.C. 29721.
