Obituary for Joyce Faulkenbery Catoe
Funeral services for Joyce Faulkenberry Catoe, 81, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 20, 2017, in the sanctuary of Center Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Jackie Jenkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Mrs. Catoe, widow of the late Edward Bruce Catoe died Tuesday, March 14, at her home. Born in Kershaw, SC, she was a daughter of the late Judson Boyce and Irene Williams Faulkenberry. Mrs. Catoe was a graduate of Kershaw High School. She served as business secretary for Lee Construction for 17 years and served as church pianist for Woodlawn Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, for 25 years. She was a former member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for 50 years and was currently a member of Center Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Edward H. “Eddie” Catoe and his wife Sharon of Charlotte, NC; her daughter; Karen C. Murphy and her husband Greg of Kershaw, SC; 3 grandchildren, Shawn Braswell and his wife Andrea, Wesley Catoe, Brittany Murphy and a great granddaughter, Ellie Grace Braswell all of Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Homer Faulkenberry.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, March 19, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
