John W. Green, age 71, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his home. Born in Ridgeway, S.C., he was a son of the late John Amos Green and Evelyn Mattox Green. Mr. Green was an electrician formerly employed with DuPont Co. He was a faithful member of Abney Baptist Church. Mr. Green enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. He cherished the time he spent with his grand boys playing golf and spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 50 years, Donna Austin Green; his daughter, Renee Hathaway and her husband, Scott; 2 grandsons, Rhett Robinson and Cole Robinson; his siblings, Susie (Leroy) Adams, Bobby Green, Charles Green and Yvonne Ussery and his father-in-law, J.V. Austin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Daryl Green and Stuart Green.
Funeral services for Mr. Green will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023, in the sanctuary of Abney Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Scott Robinson and Larry Plyler will officiate.
The family will greet friends immediately following the committal service in the cemetery and other times at the home.
