Obituary for Joel P. Scott, Jr.

Joel Patrick Scott, Jr., age 52, of Lancaster, S.C., passed away suddenly, Monday, January 9, 2023. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son Joel Patrick Scott, Sr. and the late Mary Ida Floyd Donahue. He worked in the construction industry where he was an excellent welder. He also enjoyed wood working and go-kart racing.


He is survived by his wife, Lana Faulkenberry Scott; his children and grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Joel P. Scott, Sr. and Nancy Scott and a half-brother, Benji Scott and his wife Amanda.


A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, January 14, 2023, in Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Dr. Jason Moss will officiate.


The family will greet friends following the gathering at the Conference Center.


Memorial remembrances in memory of Joel may be made to the Lancaster SPCA, P.O. Box 3042, Lancaster, S.C. 29721 or Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.


Arrangements are under the care of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C.
