Obituary for Joanne B. Sims
Joanne Blackmon Sims, 65, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Friday, March 19, 2021, in Prisma Health Richland, Columbia, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Dan B. Blackmon and Belinda Ogburn Blackmon. Joanne was formerly employed with Small’s Food Center for 30 plus years, where she served as head cashier. She was a member of Fork Hill Baptist Church. Joanne cherished the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Randall Sims of the home; 2 sons, Ken Scott Sims of the home and Andy Sims of Heath Springs, S.C.; 2 grandchildren, Amy Sims and Trenton Sims both of Heath Springs, S.C.; 2 brothers, Dean Blackmon and his wife, Gail and Danny Blackmon all of Lancaster, S.C. and Doris B. Roberts and her husband, Eric of Rock Hill, S.C.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 11:00 o’clock a.m. in Fork Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C. Rev. Dale Walters will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects and sign the register book, Monday, March 22, 2021, from 12:00 o’clock noon until 5:00 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Baker Funeral Home / Sims Funeral Services, 210 East Hilton St., Kershaw, S.C. 29067 to help the family with funeral expenses.
