Obituary for Jerry M. "Mike" Blackmon, Sr.
Jerry Michael “Mike” Blackmon, Sr., 67, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son of the late Foster Blackmon and Lessie Poston Blackmon. Mr. Blackmon was a mechanic for several years and later helped his brother in his business. He enjoyed the outdoors and working. In his earlier years he loved to ride motorcycles when he was young. Mr. Blackmon loved spending time with his dog, Molly.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Tina Peavy; Kayla Holden and her husband, Ryan; a son, Cory Blackmon; 8 grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cassidy, McKenzie, McKayla, Mason, Chase, Landen and Channing; 1 great grandson, Sailor Anderson; a brother, James Blackmon and 2 sisters, Terry Sims and her husband, Bobby and Vickie Blackmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melody Kay Blackmon and his son, Mikie Blackmon, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2022, in Fork Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C. Preacher Cotton Pate will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery and other times at the home.
