Jerry M. Lucas, age 76, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Monday, July 10, 2023, in Karesh at Beechwood, Camden, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son of the late Coleman Lucas and Fannie Lee Robinson Lucas. He was a graduate of Kershaw High School and an avid Clemson Tiger fan. Jerry retired from the DuPont Company where was an electrician.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Charla L. Jensen and her husband Mike of Sherman, TX and Tracy L. Faile and her husband, Mark of Ridgeway, S.C.; 4 adored grandchildren, Lucas Jensen and his wife, Mackenzie of Sherman, TX, Reagan Jensen of Allen, TX, Bailee Faile of Columbia, S.C. and Erica Faile of Ridgeway, S.C. and a much adored great grandson, Weston Thomas Jensen; 4 sisters, Doris Langley of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jenell Williams of Kershaw, S.C., Barbara Rone and her husband, Bobby of Kershaw, S.C. and Carol Reynolds of Kershaw, S.C. and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Lou Thomas Lucas; 2 sisters, Margie Ray, and Mary L. “Teet” Elder and 2 brothers, J.C. Lucas, and Howard “Buckshot” Lucas.
A service to remember and celebrate his life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. The Revs. Joe Stines and Ronnie Hinson will officiate. A private burial will be in Kershaw City Cemetery at a later date.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the Conference Center and at the home.
Jerry’s family is grateful for the many visits and prayers from friends and the community during his brief illness.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jerry may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
