Graveside services for Jerry Boykin Catoe, Sr., 72, will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Craigan Blankenship will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 29th, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in Baker Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19, we ask that you abide by the state’s recommendations of wearing masks and social distancing to provide a safe environment for all.
Mr. Catoe died Monday, July 27, 2020 in the Dorn VA Medical Center. Mr. Catoe was born in Camden, the son of the late Boykin and Mary Elizabeth Gibson Catoe. He had retired from DuPont Company and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Mr. Catoe was also a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and also loved music.
Surviving are his longtime companion, Judy Sinclair; daughter, Sonya Catoe Craig of Kershaw; son, Jerry Boykin “Kin” Catoe, Jr. (Penny) of Kershaw; grandchildren, Patrick Stokes, Christopher Craig, and James “Clay” Craig; sister, Susan Twitty; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Allan Catoe and John Lee Catoe; and sister, Darlene Keiningham.
