James Bruce Hinson, 75, of Bennettsville, S.C., and formerly of Lancaster, S.C., passed away, Friday, March 10, 2023, at his home. Born in Lancaster County, he was a son of the late James Jackson Hinson and Frances Pauline H. Hinson. Mr. Hinson was a member of High Point Baptist Church when he was living in Lancaster. He was a graduate of Buford High School where he was on the football team. He enjoyed fishing and was a Mason. Mr. Hinson was a welder and pipe fitter working for Fluor-Daniel and PPM and the paper company in Bennettsville.
He is survived by his companion, Pam Brinson of Bennettsville, S.C.; 2 daughters, Wendy Hinson (Russell) Hovis of Lancaster, S.C. and Paula Hinson Carnes of Heath Springs, S.C.; 4 grandchildren, Peyton, Colt, Christopher, and Dustin; 1 great grandchild, Archer; his brother, Allan J. Hinson of Heath Springs, S.C. and his sister, Judy Hinson Stacks of Lancaster, S.C.
A private memorial service will be held at Baker Conference Center. Rev. Bobby Joyner will officiate.
