Obituary for Jack Thomas Couch
A funeral service for Jack Thomas Couch, 86 of Heath Springs, SC will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014, from the sanctuary of Rich Hill Baptist Church. The Revs. Rod Yow and Tommy Mullis, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites. Mr. Couch died Monday, December 1, 2014, at his home. Born in Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Ganson Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Hinson Couch. He retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Rich Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Couch was a World War II Navy veteran and a 60 year member of Fork Hill Masonic Lodge # 316. He was a horse trainer, horse show judge, dog trainer, gardener, chicken and cattle farmer. He also enjoyed wood working and was a avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Lou E. Lucas Couch of the home; a daughter, Phyllis Couch Hickman and her husband Billy of Heath Springs; three grandchildren, Chip Wolfe, Taylor Hickman and his wife Haley and Luke Hickman; four great grandchildren, Jackson Wolfe, Raely Wolfe, Tanner Hickman and Walker Wolfe; a sister-in-law, Daisy Couch of Heath Springs; a brother-in-law, Tommy Mullis, Sr. of Lake Toxaway, NC. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Elliott Couch and a sister, Mary Frances Mullis. The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the church gym. Memorials may be made to Rich Hill Baptist Church, Choir Fund, 1557 East Doc Garris Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058.
