Obituary for Irene Daugherty Pierro
Irene Daugherty Pierro 74 of Heath Springs, SC, passed from this earth on August 5, 2015. She was a long time resident of Palm Beach County, Florida. She worked as a realtor, first with Sun Land Century 21 and later with Red Bird Realty. She along with her late husband retired to South Carolina in 2002.
Mrs. Pierro was a wife, mother, step-mother, step-grandmother, and a sister. She was married to the late Vincent Pierro, the love of her life. She is survived by her son, Phillip Pierro, the joy of her life and his wife Maggi of Lancaster, SC; a step-son, Charles Pierro (Charlotte); a step-daughter, Theresa Pierro (David) all of Florida; her sister, Penny Halperin (Jerry) of West Palm Beach, FL; nephews, Matt Halperin (Pam) of Wellington, FL, Mark Halperin (Yolanda) and their family, Austin, Madison and Courtney of Royal Palm Beach, FL; a loving niece, Lisa Mosher of Woodbridge, VA and her South Carolina sister, Diane Sims.
Mrs. Pierro was a member of Saint Catherine Catholic Church, Lancaster. She was a lady of extreme faith that sustained her through her 20 year battle with cancer. She fought the good fight, her faith never wavering.
The Rosary service followed by a viewing will be held Wednesday August 12, beginning at 6:00 o’clock p.m. until 8:00 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 o’clock a.m., Thursday morning, August 13, at Saint Catherine Catholic Church, Meeting Street, Lancaster. Burial will follow at 1:00 o’clock p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
Mrs. Pierro will be missed by all who knew her, and would appreciate any donation in her memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
