Obituary for Hubert L. Dixon
A service to celebrate the life of Hubert L. “Termite” Dixon 91, of Lancaster, SC, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Friday, June 30, 2017, in the sanctuary of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Lancaster, SC, with Masonic Rites and Military Honors.

Mr. Dixon died Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Hospice of Union County, Monroe, NC. He was born in Kershaw County. Mr. Dixon retired from Duke Power Company and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Jackson Masonic Lodge # 53 where he had served as Past Master. He was a member of Hejaz Shrine Temple, Greenville, SC and a member of the Scottish Rite. Mr. Dixon was a past member of the Board of Directors for the Lancaster County Council on Aging and served his country during World War II in the Pacific in the United States Army.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Peggy Moore Dixon of the home; 4 daughters, Linda D. Cauthen of Kershaw, SC, Donna D. (Robert) Couch of Lancaster, SC, Sherry D. Pico of Honolulu, Hawaii, Sharon M. (Neil) Godfrey of Fort Mill, SC; 2 sons, Michael L. (Joann) Dixon of Cayce, SC and William T. (Tommy) Dixon of Powerside, Missouri; 12 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Dale Anderson of St. Simons Island, GA; a number of nieces and nephews and his adopted family, Emerson, Dottie and Anna Couch. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Workman, Sr.; a daughter, Beverly D. McElroy; 3 sisters, Doris Horton, Edna Elliott and Ruby Avant and 3 brothers, Woodrow Dixon, James Dixon and Wade Dixon.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home, 1975 New Cut Church Road, Lancaster, SC.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Dixon may be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church, Cemetery Fund, 3734 Heyward Hough Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
