Obituary for Hazil Lynn Horton
Funeral services for Hazil Lynn Horton 73,of Bethune will be held Friday, September 6, 2013, at 11:00 am in Shamrock Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Horton, wife of Jimmy C. Horton, died Tuesday, September 3, in KershawHealth. Born in Jefferson, she was the daughter of the late J.W. “Son” Lynn and Iva Boone Lynn. Mrs. Horton was co-owner of Horton’s Grocery and attended Shamrock Baptist Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren and traveling. Surviving are her husband of Bethune; a daughter, Patty Horton Hidy (Joseph) of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Josh Klinect of Miami Beach, FL, Carson Hidy, Tayte Hidy, and Reese Hidy all of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Mitchell Lynn (Joann) of Jefferson; five sisters, Aline Eubanks of Jefferson, Lois Boone of Jefferson, Janie Snipes of Lancaster, Margaret Knight of Lancaster, and Virginia Wright (Carl) of Lancaster. She was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Horton Klinect, and two brothers, Joe M. Lynn and John C. Lynn. The family will receive friends following the committal service and welcome you to join them for fellowship in The White House next to the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
