Obituary for Hazelene Sims Jewett
Hazelene Sims “Hazel” Jewett, 90, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Friday morning, October 8, 2021, at her home. Born in the Midway community of Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Steward Heath Sims and Effie Neal Sims. She was a graduate of Flat Creek High School, Class of 1947, a faithful member of First Baptist Church and retired from Springs Industries. Mrs. Jewett was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband of 60 years, Randolph Jewett and a son, Kenny S. Jewett.
She was a loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the Lord and faithfully served him in many capacities throughout her life. She enjoyed flowers, cooking, gardening, sewing and reading. Her favorite time was spent with her great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan J. Hinson and her husband, Daryl B. Hinson; two grandchildren, Rachel H. Edwards and her husband, Lance, Jordan D. Hinson and his wife, Maegan; seven great grandchildren, Knox Edwards, Harper Edwards, Larkin Edwards, Crew Edwards, Eli Hinson, Addison Hinson and Korie Hinson.

A graveside service for Mrs. Jewett will be held, Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., October 10, 2021, in Kershaw City Cemetery. The Reverend Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery and other times at her home.
