Harold Rankin “Randy” Lowery, 75, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Sunday, April 30, 2023, at his home. Born in Camden, S.C., he was the son of the late Harold Thomas Lowery and Martha Rankin Lowery. Randy was a United States Marine, retired educator, and coach from the area. He enjoyed Farmall tractors, farming, football and taking his grandchildren to Big’s Restaurant in McBee, S.C. He was of Baptist faith and had played football for Appalachian State.
He is survived by his son, Gregg Lowery (Anissa); 2 grandchildren, Skylar Lowery, and Korbin Lowery who he adored and 2 sisters, Sherry Smith, and Tammy Bishop (Tony). He is also survived by his caretakers, Gail and Erik.
Funeral services for Mr. Lowery will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday morning, May 3, 2023, in Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. 29067. Rev. Paul Stephens will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
The family will greet friends, immediately following the committal service at the cemetery.
Memorial remembrances may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
