Obituary for Glennie Byrd
Funeral services for Glennie Belle Byrd, 94, of Jefferson, S.C. will be held Friday, December 6, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. in Baker Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Jefferson, S.C. Rev. Terry Corder will officiate. Mrs. Byrd, widow of Yancy Toasting Byrd, died Wednesday, December 4, at her home. Born in Pageland, S.C. she was the daughter of the late Edward and Maggie McManus Raffaldt. Mrs. Byrd was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She loved flowers and gardening. Surviving are children; Diane Eubanks (Willie), Rhonda Rodgers (Donald), Danny Byrd (Susan), Eunice Deese (Dale), all of Jefferson, and Rena Thurman (Larry) of Ruby; step-son, Lindy Byrd of Irmo; step-daughter, Betsy Knight of Kershaw; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Faile of Jefferson, Nezzie Lucas and Katie Oliver both of Rock Hill. She was predeceased by three sons and one daughter. The family will receive friends Friday, December 6, prior to the service beginning at 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. in Baker Funeral Home.
