Obituary for Gerald Reese
Funeral services for William Gerald Reese, 79 of Kershaw, SC will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2014, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Mr. Reese died Wednesday, December 17, at his home. Born in the Mt. Pisgah Community, he was a son of the late Edwin Harmon and Cora Horton Reese. Mr. Reese was the owner/operator of Reese’s Service Station. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a member of Abney Masonic Lodge # 211 where he received his 40 year pin and a Shriner. Mr. Reese also served in the US Army and the National Guard. Mr. Reese was a past member of the board of directors of Wachovia Bank, Kershaw branch. Surviving are his wife, Margie Williams Reese of the home; a son, Bryan Reese and his friend Rae Marie of Kershaw; three grandchildren, Will Reese, Natalee Reese and Lucas Reese; a sister, Myrtis McCants of Aiken, SC; three brothers, Carroll Reese (Sabren) of Jefferson, SC, Len Reese (Annie Mae) of Hartsville, SC and Eddie Reese of Bethune, SC; his aunt, Edna Broadway of Camden, SC and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margie R. Jackson. The family would like to thank Jenny, Cindy, Becky, Rene and Pauline for the love and care shown to Mr. Reese. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church.
