Obituary for Gary M. Taylor
Gary Matthew Taylor, 72, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Friday evening, February 18, 2022, at his home. Born in Kershaw County, he was a son of the late Grover L. Taylor and Faye Elizabeth Mangum Taylor. He was a carpenter and was a member of Abney Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Dease Taylor of the home; 2 daughters, Angie Taylor of Kershaw, S.C. and Tracie (Brad) Rogers of Bishopville, S.C.; 5 grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) Small of Cassatt, S.C., Dillion Taylor and Breanna Marsh of Kershaw, S.C. and Daniel Rogers and Averie Rogers of Bishopville, S.C.; 1 great grandchild, Jace Small; 4 sisters, Doris (Jimmy Sullivan) Taylor of Kershaw, S.C. Ann (Mike) Harter of Cassatt, S.C., Rita (Henry) Bass of Bethune, S.C. and Peggy (Jim Knight) Stogner of Kershaw, S.C. and 3 brothers, Byron (Janice) Taylor of Florence, S.C., David (Carol) Taylor of Kershaw, S.C. and Larry Taylor of Kershaw, S.C. and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matt Taylor and a half-brother, Everette Taylor.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2022, in the sanctuary of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church Family Life Center.
