Franklin D. Steen, 72, of the Stoneboro community, Heath Springs died Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at KershawHealth, Camden. He was born in Lancaster, June 23, 1945. Mr. Steen retired from Springs Industries as a computer systems engineer. He enjoyed hunting arrowheads and was a volunteer for the SC Institute of Archeology and Anthropology. He and his wife were selected in 1982 as amateur archeologists of the year. The first husband and wife couple to receive the award. Mr. Steen also served his county in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a proud supporter and member of the Heath Springs Lions Club.
An informal gathering will be held on Thursday, March 22, in Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw from 4:00 – 6:00 o’clock p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Steen’s memory can be made to Heath Springs Lions Club or Kershaw Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Andee Steen; sons, Christopher J. ( Alisha) Steen, Matthew (Brandie) Steen, and Van P. (Lindsey) Steen; 3 granddaughters, Lauren Steen, Vanessa Steen, and Madilyn Richardson.
