Obituary for Frank Edward Horton
Funeral services for Frank Edward “Ed” Horton, 87 of Kershaw, S.C. will be held at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 31, 2013, conducted by the Revs. Doug Humphries and Hugh McKinney. Burial services will follow in the Abney Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Turner officiating. Mr. Horton died Saturday, December 28, 2013, at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Frances Taylor Horton. He retired from Springs Industries after 38 years of service. Mr. Horton was a member of Abney Baptist Church. He also loved working on lawn mowers, gardening and watching western movies. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Alberta Mattox Horton of the home; 2 sons, Danny Horton and his wife Patricia, Wendell Horton and his wife Tamara all of Kershaw; his daughter, Ann Reeves and her special friend Ray of Lugoff; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, his brother, Wilbur Horton and his wife Joyce of Kershaw and his sister, Gaynell Horton of McBee. He was preceded in death by a brother, L.J. Horton; 2 sisters, Vera Robinson and Betty Hinson and a son-in-law, Howard Reeves. The family will receive friends, Monday, December 30, 2013, at Baker Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and other times at the home, 6504 Springs Street, Kershaw. Memorials may be made to Abney Baptist Church, 5180 Bethune Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
