Obituary for Frances L. West
Frances Lavon West, 87, of Kershaw, passed away, Friday evening, May 1, 2020. Born in Chesterfield County, she was a daughter of the late James Arthur West and Adeliza Deese West. She retired from Springs Memorial Hospital after 25 years of service as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church, which she dearly loved. She also enjoyed her Sunday school class. Mrs. West was an avid reader and cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are her twin sons, Melvin West and his wife, Susan of Cayce, Marvin West and his wife, Janice of West Columbia; her daughter, Lynn W. Catoe and her husband, Kenneth of Barnwell; 7 grandchildren, Michelle (Marty) Adams of West Columbia, Julie (Kevin) Kinsella of Lexington, Angela West of West Columbia, Christie (Prescot) Jordan of Gaston, Jonathan (Lori) West of Graniteville, Nathan Catoe of Barnwell and Deanna Catoe (Adam) Grubbs of Barnwell; 7 great grandchildren, Haley Vaccaro, Brady West, Alex West, Gabriel West, Quinn West, Laney Grubbs and Chase Grubbs; 2 sisters, Drusilla Cooper Harrod of Goose Creek, Colleen Stacks Plyler of Lancaster and a brother, Henry West of Great Falls. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Billy West in 1994.

A service will be held from the graveside, Tuesday, May 5, at 2:00 o’clock p.m., in Kershaw City Cemetery. Burial will follow in the cemetery. The Revs. Dr. Kenneth Catoe, John Rogers, Ronnie Hinson and Dr. Jason Moss will officiate.

Friends may pay their respects, Monday, May 4, from 12:00 o’clock noon until 5:00 o’clock. p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
