Obituary for Eva T. "Evee" Catoe
A funeral service for Eva Taylor “Evee” Catoe, 94, of Kershaw, will be held 12:00 o’clock noon, Thursday, February 15, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. The Revs. Ronnie Hinson and Dr. Kenneth “Ken” Catoe will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Abney Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Catoe, loving wife of the late Otis Dempster Catoe died Sunday evening, February 11, at White Oak Manor, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late Cebran Bogin Taylor and Annie Bradley Taylor. Mrs. Catoe retired from Springs Industries after 42 years of service. She was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church and a member of the Joy Group at the church. Mrs. Catoe also enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables.
Surviving are 4 sons, Ronnie (Cindy) Catoe of Kershaw, Rev. Dr. Kenneth (Lynn) Catoe of Barnwell, Danny (Robin) Catoe of Camden and Stephen (Cynthia) Catoe of Lancaster; 7 grandchildren; 1 step-grandson; 5 great grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Nell T. Faulkenberry, Mary T. Gandy, Bertha T. Outen and a brother, Jack Taylor all of Kershaw. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ozzie, Willie and Roy Taylor and a sister, Nettie Taylor.
The family will gather informally, Thursday, February 15, one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 o’clock a.m. in the church Family Life Center to greet friends and other times at Mrs. Catoe’s home.
