Obituary for Elizabeth Cole Faile
Mrs. Elizabeth (Lib) Cole Faile, 97, of Kershaw, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 25, at home after a short illness. Mrs. Faile was born in Kershaw, on November 8, 1920. She was the daughter of the late William (Bub) Columbus Cole and Maude Denton Cole.

Lib was married to the late John Vernon Faile for over 67 years. Mrs. Faile retired as secretary of the First Baptist Church of Kershaw, where she was the church’s first secretary. She served 30 years under 6 pastors. Mrs. Faile looked forward to attending church secretary week at Ridgecrest Baptist Assembly each year. She was active in the WMU, as secretary and taught training union as well as serving on other committees of the church. Mrs. Faile was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 54 years.

Surviving are two sons; Vernie Faile and his wife Reba who served as Mrs. Faile’s caregiver for the last three and half years and Richard Faile all of Kershaw; one daughter, Marilyn F. Webb and her husband Tom of Key Largo, FL; four grandchildren, Scott (Lesley) Webb of Pineville, NC, Laura Webb of Johnson City, TN, Leanne (Jonathan) Snipes of Lancaster and Allison Wheeler of Lancaster; four great grandsons, Devin, Jayce, Cayden and Jaxson; one great granddaughter, Reese and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents and husband by a sister, Mildred Cole Vincent and two brothers, Lester Cole and Wilson Cole.

Mrs. Faile’s funeral service will be conducted, Saturday, July 28,2018, at 2:00 o’clock p.m. from the chapel of Baker Funeral Home by Pastor Sam Murphy. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, July 28, prior to the service beginning at 1:00 o’clock p.m. and other times at the home.
