Funeral services for Pastor Edward Joe “Eddie” Wheeler, 53 of Kershaw, will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Wednesday, August 7, at Potter’s House Church, where he was the pastor. Rev. Charles Watkins, Mr. E.J. Wheeler and Mr. Lee Wright will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Wheeler passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 3, at his home. Born in Monroe, N.C., he was a son of the late Don and Linda Blanton Wheeler. He was the owner/operator of Wheeler Automotive. Mr. Wheeler enjoyed fishing, restoring classic cars, being a prankster and ministering at church. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Mr. Wheeler had a infectious smile and laugh, he never met a stranger.
Surviving are his loving wife of 37 years, Abbie Helms Wheeler of the home, a daughter, Wendy Wright and her husband Lee of Kershaw; 3 sons, E.J. Wheeler of Kershaw, John “Joe Joe” Bass of Cassatt, Patrick Helms of Wesley Chapel, N.C.; 7 grandchildren, Emma Lou, Hunter, Nick, B.J., Ethan, Addie and Chloe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening, August 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.
The family would like to thank, Hospice of Lancaster, Jerry Knight, Brother Charles Watkins, Daren Sowell, Potter’s House Church family, Louie and “Joe Joe”.
He always ended his conversation with “See you later”.
