Obituary for Dorothy Louise Jewett
Funeral services for Dorothy Louise Jewett, 84, will be held Friday, September 20, 2013, at 4:00 p.m . in Midway Baptist Church with burial to follow in Jewett Family Cemetery. Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate. Mrs. Jewett, widow of Albert Jewett, died Tuesday, September 18, 2013, in Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill. Born in Union County N.C., she was the daughter of the late William Washington and Sarah Brantley Rape. Mrs. Jewett was retired from Springs Industries after 40 plus years of service. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She was the youngest of 13 children with only one sister of her immediate family surviving. Surviving are three daughters, Sheryl Barrett (Alvin) of Jefferson, Joan LeGrande (Jeff) of Kershaw, and Celia Elizabeth Sowell (Danny) of Heath Springs; 6 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter and a sister, Norris Funderburk of Lancaster. She was predeceased by a son, Bruce Jewett. The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall prior to the service beginning at 3:00 – 3:45 p.m.
