Obituary for Doris Watts Craig

Doris Watts Craig, age 94, passed away, Saturday, January 7, 2023, at her home. Born in Mt. Croghan, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Floyd Henry Watts and Fodie Virginia Jordan Watts. Mrs. Craig retired twice, first from Springs Industries and second from White Oak Manor, Lancaster. She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and enjoyed working in her yard. Mrs. Craig was married to the late John Grover Craig.


She is survived by 3 daughters, Carol Bowers, Brenda Hunter and Beth Eddings; 10 grandchildren, Neal, Bryon, Kevin, Kelly, Michael, Nicole, Troy, Randall, Kent and Lewis; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter and her brother, Johnny (Dottie) Watts. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 children, Mike Craig, Davis Craig and Sybil Robinson and siblings, Clarice Miller, Marcine Catoe, Bernard Watts, Lewis Watts, Junior Watts, Ernest Watts and Leonard Watts.


A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Larry Humphries will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.


The family will greet friends following the service in church Youth Building.


Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Craig may be made to Buffalo Baptist Church, 6390 Lockhart Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
