A service to celebrate the life of Doris Montgomery McPherson, 87, of Bethune, will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Thursday, September 7, from the graveside at Timrod Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jeremy Ussery will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, September 6, from 6:00 to 7:30 o’clock p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. The family is at their respective homes.
Mrs. McPherson, widow of Johnny Randolph McPherson passed away peacefully, Monday, September 4, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born in Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Cessie and Alma Hunter Montgomery. She retired from the Kendall Co. and was a member of Timrod Baptist Church. She loved the time spent with her family.
Surviving are her 4 children, Eddie McPherson and his wife Deborah of Camden, Ann Hall and her husband Gerald of McBee, Ricky McPherson of Bethune and Kathy McCaskill and her husband Winfield of Bethune; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Ray Davis; 2 sisters, Mary M. Catoe, Joyce M. Blackmon and a brother, James Montgomery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. McPherson may be made to Timrod Baptist Church.
