Obituary for Donald Ray Holden, Sr.
Graveside services for Donald Ray “Don” Holden, Sr., will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Kershaw City Cemetery. Military honors and Masonic rites will be rendered prior to burial.
Mr. Holden died Wednesday evening, October 25, at his home. Born in Kershaw, he was a son of the late George and Zoetta Johnson Holden. He retired from Cogsdill Tool, Lugoff and was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. He also was a member of Flat Rock Masonic Lodge # 178, a US Army veteran and enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Mary Catoe Holden; 3 sons, Donald Ray (Donna) Holden, Jr., Darrell Ray (Tanya) Holden, Russell Holland; a daughter, Cheryl (Rusty) Hayes; 5 grandchildren, Chelsea (Drew) Gardner, Kaitlyn Holden, Marcus (Stephanie) Rone, Jared Hayes and Savannah Hayes; a great grandson, Dalton Rone; a brother, Frankie (Brenda) Holden and 3 sisters, Sara Neal, Barbara Hinson and Diane Vincent all of Kershaw.
The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home, Saturday, October 28, and other times at the home.
