Obituary for Dawn Elizabeth Horton
A funeral service for Dawn Elizabeth Horton, 67 of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Rev. Ronnie Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Miss Horton died peacefully, Monday, March 14, at her home. Born in Lancaster, SC, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Ruth Twitty Horton. Miss Horton was a faithful member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. She also loved to bowl and work puzzles.
Surviving are 2 sisters, Brenda H. Gentry, who was also her caretaker, Diane H. Deese and her husband “Sambo” all of Kershaw; a brother, Doug Horton and his wife Loretta of West Columbia; four nieces, Carolyn Gentry, Sheila Horton, Angie Austin and Crystal Deese; a number of great nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by a nephew.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday, March 17, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home, 131 East Fourth Street, Kershaw.
